Dear friends and backers,

We are off to a fantastic start and I am so grateful to all of you who have jumped on board and are helping to bring this multidimensional experience to life. You won't regret it - I promise.

Today, I'd like to unveil three inspirations for the album. 

1. Mulholland Drive

A story within a story, a mystery within a mystery, and a beautifully uncanny piece of art to haunt your dreams and leave you indelibly changed. The immersive framework of Mulholland Drive was a huge inspiration for 'Sanctify My Love'.

2. Wings of Desire

Ethereal, philosophical, and constantly shifting between this world and another. Plus: Nick Cave features with a guest appearance! This film also influenced me when writing the songs.

3. The Ninth Wave

You can enjoy the songs in isolation, but they also work beautifully as an interconnected, narrative piece. The second, conceptual part of Kate Bush's 'Hounds of Love' album definitely inspired me.

Dear friends and supporters,

'Sanctify My Love' is an album full of mysteries, synchronicities and magic.

I'd like to start telling you a little about how it came about! 

It all began with.... 

A Messenger in a Dream.

Sometime last year, I had a strange and very memorable dream. 

The main character was a Blackbird.

And instinctively, I knew it carried the spirit of someone very dear to me. Someone who had, in fact, played a key role in my development as a musician and artist many years ago.
I had never particularly been drawn to or read much about blackbirds, but I do believe that different spirit animals appear and guide us at significant points in our lives. Especially when their particular wisdom is pertinent.
Recently I decided to finally read into blackbirds' symbolism. This is what I found:
 "These dark birds signify mystery and magic, and are thought to represent the Otherworlds (Borrington). These messengers may haunt the soul, or ignite a curiosity into the mystical elements of the animal and spirit realms.".
It made eerily perfect sense. The calling to make this album has literally haunted my soul, and my life has become filled with mystery and magic ever since I committed to doing so. Plus, I felt as though the blackbird brought me a message from a realm of existence beyond this one.
